14 Hours In D.C., The Great Migration I - VI, Sun Daze IV
Digital Photograph, 2020
I was booked by a close friend of mine, who is also a recording artist, to shoot a performance he had in Washington, D.C. There was a little miscommunication on the date of when the performance was, so I ended being in D.C. a day before he actually performed; I didn’t even have the time to stay for the performance. That one day trip birthed this project. I thought adding “The Great Migration” to the title was a dope touch since D.C. was one of the places that blacks in the south moved to from 1916 to 1970 to escape poor economic conditions, segregation and discrimination.
